Living in the northwest means that a lot of family trips revolve around camping or the coast. Mommy is determined to take you camping this first summer, but a quick daytrip to the coast was much easier to do this early on.
You will soon learn that the Oregon COAST is not the BEACH because it is usually grey, overcast, chilly, and windy as hell. There have been very few times in my life when it was actually warm enough at the coast to get in the water. As a kid we always wanted to get in the water no matter the temperature, but I must have been crazy.
Daddy had one of the first days off in a long time, so we decided it would be best to get out of town for a few hours. Plus, we have the perfect beach outfit for you and just HAD to go visit while it still fits :)
We headed to Tillamook, Netarts, and Oceanside and got to visit the Tillamook Cheese Factory on the way to the ocean and then your first meal out in public at the Schooner (sidenote - where Mommy fell in love with oyster shooters). It was a relatively sunny day at the coast, but still quite windy. You were a little fussy when we got out of the car, but were quiet as soon as we got down to the sand and you felt that ocean breeze. I am convinced that you loved it and that you are going to be our beach girl!
